Here we are: the Carnival of Venice is just only 2 weeks far.
There are different possibilities to organize your Carnival participation. One of them is to buy a ticket for one of the numerous private parties -some of you will probably remember that I sold such participations a year ago. The cost of that party was about euro 1000. It’s not indifferent price and many of you want to know if it’s possible to organize the carnival in Venice at no cost.
Well, no cost is a little too optimistic. But the prices, if you want to save, can be much lower than the cost of a private party.
So, what are the advices for those who goes in Venice for Carnival?
First of all, think about your costume. It’s a “once-in-a-life” event and think about this gift you have to do to yourself. But don’t buy your costume. Hire it. There are many shops situating in the streets in Venice where you can hire your costume.
Where to find entertainment events?
Piazza San Marco -all the celebrations and feasts are gratis.
The Maria Feast beginns near Basilica di San Pietro di Castello and finishes in Piazza San Marco. One of the most important feasts and is gratis.
Campo Santa Margherita -events every afternoon
Stazione Marittima -every evening
Cannareggio zone: you can taste the creations of the chefs of the restaurants in the streets gratis. After you taste all the dishes, you don’t need to eat more.
The Carnival of Venice beginns on Feb. 4 and finishes on Feb.21 this year.
On Jan. 8, Disney Fantasy floated out of the enclosed building dock at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. In about two weeks, the ship will convey down the River Ems to the North Sea for the start of sea trials. More milestones will follow, concluding with the ship’s maiden voyage on March 31, 2012.
